Abstract
Library is meant to be used by students of any higher institution of learning. Librarians help
them to find the resources and they teach them library research techniques. This paper
investigated the readiness to use, frequency of use and the purpose of use of library by the
HND I students in Office Technology and Managements Department of The Federal
Polytechnic Ado Ekiti.The population under Study was One hundred and fifty three (153)
students. Survey method was used and total enumeration was adopted for the population of
one hundred and fifty three students of the above mentioned department. Simple Percentage
was used to analyze the data obtained from the students. Ninety percent (90 %) of the
respondents agreed that they were enticed to use the library based on the users' friendliness
of the new Staff in circulation unit of the library. Eighty nine percent (89%) of the population
agreed that the new staff members of circulation unit are always polite to patrons. The whole
respondents which amount to one hundred percent (100%) agreed that they love to visit the
library and also use the library information resources. It was observed that the head of the
library needs to put a committed librarian in the reader service as the head of the unit, put
library assistants who are polite and friendly in the circulation unit and from time to time
change the staff from various units to the others by way of internal transfer.
