Abstract
The role of mobile technologies in transforming traditional library services has
become a focal point in the evolving landscape of information management due to the
increasing prevalence of smartphones and tablets. This study investigated using
mobile technologies for information access in private university libraries in Osun
State, Nigeria. Four research questions were raised based on the study's objectives to
serve as a guide. A descriptive survey research design was adopted for the study, and
a Multistage sampling technique was used to select a sample size of 150 respondents.
The research employed a mixed-methods approach, combining surveys and interviews
to gather comprehensive insights. The study will contribute to the scholarly discourse
on information management, mobile technology adoption, and user-centric library
services in the specific context of South-West, Nigeria. Findings informed strategies
for enhancing mobile technology integration in academic libraries, ultimately
improving the accessibility and efficiency of information services for the educational
community in the region.
