ASSESSMENT OF MANAGEMENT OF ARCHIVAL RECORDS
IN MINISTRIES OF YOBE STATE, NIGERIA.
Abstract
The objective of the study was to assess and determine the types of archival records
generated in Yobe state Government ministries and how they are managed and accessed. The
target population for the study comprised of 10 Yobe State Ministries. A total of 10 record
officers in 10 selected ministries in Yobe State were drawn as sample size. Questionnaire and
observations were used to collect data for the study. The data collated was presented and
analyzed using distribution tables. The study found among others that Yobe State Ministries
generated different types of archival records with varying degree of value worthy of
permanent preservation for continuity in governance, research and planning for future
development. Similarly, archival records management in terms of storage system, disaster
preparedness and archival records retention policy and recovery plan among others in most of
Yobe State Ministries do not meet the required minimum standard in line with global best
practices. Arising from the findings of the study some recommendation were made which
includes; Yobe State Government Ministries should well harness the various type of records
identified and appraised with archival value for good governance, accountability, continuity
and planning for a better tomorrow.

STUDENTS/LECTURERS RELATIONSHIPS AND ACADEMIC WELL BEING OF
LIBRARY AND INFORMATION SCIENCE STUDENTS IN UNIVERSITY OF
CALABAR, CROSS RIVER STATE.
Abstract
The study examined Students/Lecturers relationships and academic performance of Library and
Information Science students in University of Calabar. To achieve this purpose, three research
objectives were formulated and three research questions were raised to guide the study. The
population of the study was 400 undergraduate students of Library and Information Science
(LIS) with sample of 300 LIS undergraduate students representing 75% of the total population.
Simple random and accidental sampling techniques were used in the selection of sample
population. Data obtained were analyzed using simple percentage. The results revealed that
student/student relationship, student/lecturer relationship and lecturer/lecturer relationship
significantly influence academic performance of LIS undergraduate students in University of
Calabar. Based on the findings, it was recommended among others that lecturers should strive
as much as possible to be kind, friendly, cheerful, helpful, fair, have sense of humour, show an
understanding on students problems, allow plenty of student activity and at the same time
maintain order.

INDEXING AND VISIBILITY OF FACULTY JOURNALS IN DELTA STATE
UNIVERSITY, ABRAKA, NIGERIA
Abstract
Journal publishing is an integral part of the university academic activity. This study was
carried out to investigate indexing and visibility of faculty journals in Delta State University
Abraka. Two research questions and one hypothesis were raised to guide the investigation.
This study adopted a correlational research design. The population was made up of 12
editors-in-chief of the faculty journals in Delta State University, Abraka. Total enumeration
sampling technique was used in the study, as such the entire population was used in the study.
Using a questionnaire and checklist, data were collected from the editors of all the journals in
the university. The study found that few faculty journals are indexed by few indexing bodies.
The faculty journals are highly visible, however, there was no significant relationship
between their visibility and the extent to which they are indexed. Recommendations were
made based on the findings.

DIGITAL INFORMATION RESOURCE NEEDS, USES AND SEEKING
BEHAVIOURS OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERING STUDENTS
OF BAYERO UNIVERSITY, KANO
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to investigate digital information resource needs, uses and
seeking behaviours of mechanical engineering students at Bayero University, Kano. The
objectives of the study include: to determine digital information resources needs, usage and
information seeking behaviour among Mechanical Engineering Students of Bayero
University, Kano and to assess various challenges associated with digital information
resources needs, usage and information seeking behaviour among Mechanical Engineering
students of Bayero University, Kano. This study was premised on the Digital Information
Resources Literacy in Four Dimensions Models (DLFD). The study adopted descriptive
research design. Simple random sampling in probability sampling techniques was used for
this study and the sample size of the study was 169. The findings from the study showed that
participants in the research appreciate digital information resources in enhancing learning,
research and information needs. The study concluded that though not all the students in
public higher institutions in Kano State participated in this study, the use digital information
resources among undergraduate Mechanical Engineering students enhances research, current
and up-to-date information. The study recommended that there is the need for the university
as a matter of policy to strengthen digital information resources needs, usage and information
seeking behaviour among Mechanical Engineering students of Bayero University, Kano, for
more proactive research and learning capabilities.

INTEGRATION OF SOCIAL MEDIA IN ACADEMIC LBRARY:
A TRANSFORMATIONAL TOOL FOR EFFECTIVE DELIVERY
OF LIBRARY SERVICES IN THE 21ST CENTURY
Abstract
The paper examined social media integration in the delivery of library services in the 21st
century. The paper covered several contents including the roles of social media in enhancing the
relevance of academic libraries; the 21st skill set necessary for effective implementation of social
media powered library services. It further highlighted the strategies for effective integration of
social media in academic library services delivery. This paper adopted content analysis and,
reviewed several literatures related to social media use in academic libraries. The study found out
that to be able to stay relevant in the socially networked environment and meet the growing needs
of its patrons in the 21st century, it has become imperative for academic libraries to fully integrate
social media, which has become a library technology that has the capacity to expand the frontiers
of library service delivery as well as to reach the hitherto unreached categories of patrons. The
study suggested among others that, academic libraries in Nigeria should design a social media
strategy which would guide a smooth integration and use of social media. That library and
information professionals in Nigeria should engage in aggressive social media campaigns and
awareness so as to enhance the patronage of their library services and resources. The study also
suggests that institutions of higher learning in Nigeria should ensure adequate budgetary
provision for the purchase and maintenance of technologies and facilities to effectively drive the
social media implementation for effective service delivery.

CHANGING NATURE OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY AND INFORMATION
WORKERS' ADAPTABILITY TOWARDS SATISFYING USERS' EXPERIENCE
Abstract
The emergence of digital technologies as a primary means of communication has transformed
how information is managed and disseminated, leading to changes like information technology
(IT) in the world of work. The paper also discusses the importance of digital literacy skills, user
experience or user-centric design, the need for training and development opportunities to support
librarians' adaptability to IT, and the need for undergraduate students to develop appropriate
skills to improve their employability. This paper uses a desktop literature review to explore the
changing nature of IT, users' experience and satisfaction with the use of IT, as well as the
adaptability of information workers towards IT to satisfy users' information needs. Librarians
play a critical role in providing information services to users and must continuously adapt their
skills to meet the growing demands of users in the digital age.

EXAMINATION OF UTILISATION OF TRUNCATION SEARCH STRATEGIES FOR
ACCESS TO ELECTRONIC INFORMATION RESOURCES: A FOCUS ON
POSTGRADUATE STUDENTS IN SELECTED NIGERIAN UNIVERSITIES
Abstract
This study was focused on the utilization of truncation search strategies by postgraduate students
in accessing library databases for research in Universities of Technology in South-East, Nigeria.
The purpose of the study is to find out the types of library databases available in the universities
of technology south- East zone and to determine the extent of application of truncation search
strategies in accessing the available databases. The researchers adopted descriptive survey design
and the population of the study was 540 post graduate students. Questionnaire and observation
checklist were used for data collection. The questionnaire was validated, pilot study conducted
and the reliability was determined using Cronbach Alpha. The data collected for the study was
analyzed using mean and standard deviation to address the research questions; while the null
hypotheses were tested using Pearsons production moment correlation. Two research questions
and one hypothesis were used for the study. Findings reveal that a good number of library
databases are available in the universities studied. The postgraduate students in these universities
use truncation search strategies in retrieving information from the library databases moderately.
It was recommended that the university management should sensitize the post graduate students
by creating further awareness through training to acquire required information search and
retrieval skills that will help them accessing the databases to a high extent for research purposes.

IMPACT OF EMERGING TECHNOLOGIES IN LIBRARY AND INFORMATION
SCIENCE EDUCATION IN NIGERIA.
Abstract
This study investigated the integration of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence,
machine learning technology, social media, blockchain technology, and gamifications, e.t.c. into
Library and Information Science (LIS) education to enhance students' learning experiences,
improve students' understanding, application of information retrieval, analysis and organization
of information resources. The research adopted content analysis approach in reviewing some
related literature in the field of educational technology. Findings of this study revealed that
artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, mobile social media, Augmented Reality, Virtual
Reality, blockchain technology, Data Scienc, Open Educational Resources (OERs) and
gamifications are some of the emerging technologies in LIS education. The study concluded that
the twenty first century LIS education has the necessity of incorporating the emerging
technologies in LIS education as well as giving a new, positive face to LIS education globally in
order to improve the learning outcomes of LIS students and enhance learning experiences. The
study therefore, recommended that there is need to integrate the use of AI, machine learning,
augmented reality, virtual reality technologies, blockchain technologies among others, into LIS
education. Also, the LIS curriculum in Nigeria should be generally reviewed for the inclusion of
educational technologies and digital training skills in line with the expectations of the digital
society.

INFLUENCE OF SOCIAL INTELLIGENCE IN ENHANCING LIBRARY USE
ACTIVITIES IN UNIVERSITY OF LAGOS LIBRARY, AKOKA
Abstract
This study examines the influence of social intelligence on the enhancement of library
activities among the library users of the university of Lagos Library, Akoka, Nigeria. The
study is expected to assist in the creation of new experiences and vistas for the library staff
and users. The study's main objectives, research questions and hypotheses were explored.
The study is descriptive survey research. A total of 200 (Two hundred) respondents were used
in this study using the simple random selection technique. The mean, standard deviation and
t-test statistical instrument were used to test the null hypothesis at 0.05 level of significance.
The results showed that there was a significant awareness of the use of social intelligence on
library activities among library users in the University of Lagos Library, Akoka, Nigeria and
also there was equally significant influence of social intelligence on the enhancement of
library activities among users of the University of Lagos Library, Akoka. The study
concluded that the creation of awareness in the use of social intelligence would improve
library activities in Nigerian tertiary institutions. The study recommends by extension that the
application of social intelligence should be a must, to enhance the library activities in the
higher institutions in Nigeria.

INTEGRATION OF LIBRARY SERVICES INTO LEARNING MANAGEMENT
SYSTEMS (LMS) FOR OPEN AND DISTANCE LEARNING IN NATIONAL OPEN
UNIVERSITY OF NIGERIA.
Abstract
This paper explores the integration of library services into Learning Management Systems
(LMS) for Open and distance learning in National Open University of Nigeria. The study
adopted a survey research design. The population of the study comprised of 3760 400-level
undergraduate students drawn from the five study centres in the FCT. The sample size of the
study is 376 undergraduate students at National Open University of Nigeria in the FCT. The
instrument that was used for data collection is a self-structured questionnaire. The data
collected for this study was analysed using descriptive statistics. The study found that the
extent of integration of library services within the Learning Management System (LMS) is
high. The study also found that the students' perception of NOUN's integrated library
services, in terms of usability and effectiveness is low. The study, therefore, recommended
that Students should develop positive attitude towards the integrated library services into
Learning Management Systems (LMS) to improve their perception their learning outcome.
The library management should create awareness on the integrated library services available
on learning management system for student to patronise. The study concludes that the
integration of library services into Learning Management Systems (LMS) by National Open
University of Nigeria has greatly improved the service delivery of the institution to the
learners.

MEETING THE 21ST CENTURY CHALLENGES OF CONDUCTING RESEARCH
IN LIBRARY AND INFORMATION SCIENCE: A DESK REVIEW
Abstract
This desk review aims to identify and discuss the key challenges researchers face in conducting research
in Library and Information Science in the 21st century and propose strategies to address them. This review
identifies key challenges faced by researchers in the field and proposes strategies to address them. It
shows that the exponential growth of digital information is a primary challenge for researchers in LIS.
Besides, the dynamic nature of technology presents another significant hurdle. There are challenges of
ethical use of information such as plagiarism, intellectual property rights, and data privacy; collaboration
and interdisciplinary research which has gained increasing importance in the 21st century. Researchers are
encouraged to make their findings freely available to the public, promote transparency and accessibility. In
conclusion, meeting the challenges of conducting research in LIS in the 21st century requires researchers
to adapt to the digital era, stay updated with technological advancements, uphold ethical standards, foster
interdisciplinary collaboration, and embrace open-access principles. Addressing these challenges allows
researchers to make significant contributions to the field and navigate the complex information landscape
of the modern era.

INTERNET USE STRATEGIES FOR EFFECTIVE RESEARCH AMONG
POSTGRADUATE STUDENTS IN UNIVERSITIES IN BAYELSA STATE
Abstract
The study investigated internet use strategies for effective research among postgraduate students
in Universities in Bayelsa state. Four (4) research questions guided the study. The study adopted
descriptive survey research design. The population of the study was 1,710 postgraduate students.
The sample for this study was 300 postgraduate students drawn using purposive and simple
random sampling techniques. Questionnaire was used in collecting data. Data were analyzed
using percentages, mean and standard deviation on the Statistical Package for Social Sciences
(SPSS). The findings showed that internet resources are available in the three universities in
Bayelsa state for effective research. It was also revealed that extent of use of internet resources
by postgraduate students for effective research is high. Again, findings showed that strategies
employed by postgraduate students in using the internet for their research include; use of search
engines, engaging in key word searching, sending e-mails among others. It was further revealed
that basic internet skills possessed by postgraduate students in the use of internet resources for
effective research include; starting existing program, evaluating what one found, surfing
(browsing), creating folders, printing, copying etc. Based on the findings, the study
recommended among others that the government and school administrators should provide
internet resources and steady power supply in universities. Also, postgraduate students should be
encouraged to undertake computer or ICT literacy programmes to equip themselves with needed
computer literacy skills.

PERCEPTION AND ATTITUDE OF LIBRARY AND INFORMATION SCIENCE
FINAL YEAR UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS TOWARDS THE USE OF REMOTE
LEARNING PLATFORMS IN SELECTED UNIVERSITIES IN OGUN STATE.
Abstract
The study examined the perception and attitude of Library and Information Science final year
undergraduate students towards the use of remote learning platforms in selected universities in
Ogun State. The study adopted a survey research design. The target population of the study is the
final year Library school undergraduates at selected universities in Ogun State. The study's total
sample size was 248 respondents. All questionnaires distributed were returned and found to be
useful for the study. The findings revealed the remote learning platforms available for use among
LIS final year undergraduate as Moodle, Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and Google Classroom.
Majority of remote learning platforms were not available to LIS final year undergraduates.
Furthermore, among LIS final-year undergraduates, the use of remote learning platforms was
low. However, the study reveals that respondents' perceptions of the use of remote learning
platforms were positive, as was their attitude towards the use of remote learning platforms. The
challenges encountered by LIS final-year undergraduates in using remote learning platforms
include Lack of expertise, limited internet connectivity, and inadequate ICT infrastructure in the
institution. This study concludes that acceptance of remote learning platforms is critical for
undergraduate students in higher education institutions. As a result, undergraduate students must
accept full access to remote learning platforms and be competent in using technological advances
to enhance learning.

Abstract
The study examined implementation of fee-based library services in public libraries for
enhanced service delivery to the users. It covers fee-based library services; purpose of fee-

provision of an additional services, actualization of the goals of public libraries in support of
education among others; types of fee-based services in public libraries includes including
abstracting and indexing services, registration of user services, compilation of bibliographic

LIBRARY SERVICES TO THE INTERNALLY DISPLACED PERSONS (IDPs) IN
NIGERIA BETWEEN YEARS 2010-2020: ADVOCACY FOR INCLUSION OF
OUTREACH PROGRAMS
Abstract
The aim of this paper is to advocate for the inclusion of outreach programs as library services to
Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Nigeria. Specifically, the study identified the needs of
IDPs, evaluated existing outreach programs to IDPs and designed A Total Outreach Program
(ATOP). The research adopted archival method of research, drawing from extant literature
relevant to its thematic concerns. Data collection for this study was a combination of descriptive
survey and documentary research, featuring a critical analysis of relevant documents relating to
outreach programs to IDPs in Nigeria. Multi-stage sampling technique was adopted in the
sampling to get the sample size of 230 IDPs. The data analysis adopted was the textual analysis.
The findings of the research showed that the needs of IDPs were medical care, clean water, and
sanitized environment ranking first; education came second; accommodation ranked third;
clothing ranked fourth and business start-up ranked fifth. From the above findings, it was
recommended that ATOP should be planned and executed. To do this, there is a need for
concerted efforts of different societal actors. Public and special-experts librarians should,
therefore, seek to collaborate with government agencies, NGOs, civil societies as well as
individuals. Thus, ATOP is an outreach program proposed to provide an all-round service geared
towards meeting all the needs of IDPs.

DISCIPLIARY DIFFERENCES IN THE USE OF ACADEMIC SOCIAL NETWORKING
SITES IN UNIVERSITIES IN SOUTHWESTERN NIGERIA
Abstract
The study investigated the perceptions of lecturers about ASNSs across different disciplines in
Southwestern Nigeria with a view to providing information about the importance of user
characteristics in the adoption and use of research tools. It identified the types of social
networking sites in use by the lecturers and determined the level of awareness of Academic
Social Networking Sites (ASNSs) of the lecturers across different disciplines. The study adopted
a descriptive survey research design. The sample for this study consisted of 240 lecturers
selected from nine public and private universities in the region. The study employed the
multistage sampling procedure. An instrument named Lecturers' Characteristics and Use of
ASNSs (LeCUA) was used to collect data for the study, while percentages, counts and mean
scores were employed to analyse the data. The results showed that ResearchGate (94%), Google
Scholar (91%) Academia.edu (66%) and LinkedIn (60%) were the popular academic networking
tools in use. The results also showed that Engineering lecturers consistently registered the
highest level of awareness in all four items of the awareness scale, while the Arts lecturers
consistently recorded the lowest level of awareness on all the items. Lecturers in Engineering
also registered the highest level of perception, unlike their counterparts in other disciplines,
particularly the Arts.

BIBLIOMETRIC LAWS AND APPLICATION IN LIBRARY AND INFORMATION SCIENCE
Abstract
This study was carried out to explore the bibliometric laws and application in library and
information science. The study discussed the application of bibliometrics and how they are
applied in Library and Information Science. The paper revealed that there are basically four laws
of bibliometrics (Lotka's, Bradford's, Zipf's and Subramanyam's law), Bibliometric is used for different applications such as evaluation and analysis of documents (books, theses, dissertations
and journals both print and online forms). It is also relevant for collection development, in the
selection of best library materials and to guide the library work. Similarly, the study revealed that
literature reviews play an essential role in academic research to gather existing knowledge and in
examine the state of any existing field. However, researchers in various disciplines continue to
rely on bibliometrics as systematic investigation of the literature. It is therefore recommended
that the insights provided in this study are useful for researchers particularly library and
information science professionals. The study concluded that, there is a need to encourage young
scholars in the field of library and information science particularly in Nigeria to explore more
research in bibliometrics.

DEPLOYMENT OF TECHNOLOGY FOR LIBRARY SERVICE DELIVERY
IN POST-COVID-19 PERIOD BY FEMALE LIBRARIANS IN NIGERIA
Abstract
The study examined information service delivery in the post-COVID-19 pandemic era
among female librarians in Nigeria. The study was an online survey designed by the
researchers with three (3) research objectives of the study. An online self-constructed
questionnaire was designed by the researchers. The population of the study comprises
all female librarians in Nigeria with WhatsApp accounts. Data was collected through
a Google web form which was distributed to various individuals with WhatsApp
accounts. A total of three hundred and twenty (320) female librarians responded from
different libraries and institutions in Nigeria. The findings revealed that COVID-19
increased the use of social media tools such as WhatsApp, Facebook, Telegram,
Zoom and among others; increased the use of ICT for academic collaboration,
disrupted library services, affected social interactions between female librarians and
users. The study further revealed that technology deployed for service delivery were
smartphones, laptops, Zoom, WhatsApp, Telegram, TeamViewer, Instagram, personal
computers and tablets. The study revealed that the use of information technology
enables female librarians to organise library materials, disseminate information
materials and master basic skills in information technology. Finally, the majority of
the female librarians emphasised that barriers such as inadequate funding from federal
and the State governments, insufficient ICT facilities, subsidy data, inadequate skills,
erratic supply of power and lack of incentives were issues affecting the provision of
information service delivery in post-COVID-19 era.

MENTORING IN ACADEMIC LIBRARIES: A REVIEW
Abstract
The paper focused on mentoring in academic libraries with emphasis on the types and its
benefits. The purpose of this paper is to assemble selected literature reports on mentoring, types
and benefits of mentoring. The researchers conducted a review of existing related literature on
academic libraries through library research. Newly recruited academic librarians and pre-tenured
librarians need the guidance, supervision and the coaching of the highly experienced and tenure-
track librarians to grow professionally in their chosen career, improve in job performance and to
prepare them for future leadership. The paper identifies and discusses the types of mentoring in
academic libraries. The researchers also highlighted the benefits of mentoring which include:
nurturing of occupational identity towards career goal attainment, enhance communication and
productivity, improves retention and reduces turnover intention, of librarians and development of
new librarians, plays transitional role of assisting librarians to navigate among others. The paper
further identifies the challenges of mentoring in academic libraries in Nigeria as comprising;
unrealistic expectations and assumptions, lack of commitment by mentees or mentors, poor
internet connection during e-mentoring among others. The paper concludes that despite the
numerous literature that exists on this subject, mentoring programmes in academic libraries have
been inadequately studied by many researchers. Ongoing investigation on other areas of
mentorship are required to determine the importance of mentoring programmes in the career
development of academic librarians.

DIGITAL CONSCIOUSNESS AS A CORRELATE OF LIBRARY USE AMONG UNDERGRADUATES
IN THE FACULTY OFSCIENCE, FEDERAL UNIVERSITY, OYE-EKITI
Abstract
This research aims to fill this gap by investigating the relationship between digital consciousness
and library use among undergraduate students at Faculty of Science, Federal University Oye-
Ekiti. The study employs the descriptive survey design. The main instrument for data collection
was a questionnaire which was validated with Cronbach's coefficient of 0.7 and above. Data
collected for the study was analyzed with mean, standard deviation, Relative Importance Index,
and correlation. Findings from the study revealed an overall moderate extent of library use
among undergraduates. In addition, it shows that the most utilized library services by
undergraduates were photocopy services, lending services, group study room, reference services,
Internet services and Books. Similarly, the study found a high level of digital consciousness
among the students. The study also revealed that lack of a library map to guide users, inadequate
reading space, library staff's unfriendly attitude, inadequate ventilation, poor internet network,
obsolete materials, and Inadequate sitting space as the major factors militating against library use
in the Faculty of Science, FUOYE. Overall, the study revealed a statistically significant
relationship between digital consciousnesses and library use among undergraduates. The paper
recommended that faculty members should actively engage with undergraduate students through
targeted outreach efforts by organizing workshops, seminars, and information sessions.
Emphasize the value of utilizing physical materials, specialized databases, and personalized
assistance from librarians to complement digital resources.

PERCEIVED IMPACT OF SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORMS ON ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE

Abstract
The study sought to examine the impact of social media platforms on academic performance
of postgraduate students in the Faculty of Education, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.
Adopting a purposive sampling technique, questionnaire was used to collect data from one
hundred postgraduate students in Faculty which was analysed descriptively using Statistical
Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) version 26. Findings of the study revealed that Zoom
meetings is the major social media platforms available for improving academic performance
in the study site; Zoom meetings is also the major social platform that has high impact on
academic performance. Too much academic workload, barriers to full participation in
coursework units are the major barriers to utilizing social media platforms for improving
academic performance of the postgraduate students. The study recommended that the faculty
of education, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria should create awareness on the importance of
other social media platforms such as AdobeConnect, BigBlueButton, Moodle, and Vedado
Virtual Classroom for improved academic performances of students and; adequate academic
workload should be allocated to staff of the study area and they should be allowed to fully
participate in coursework units for effective service delivery.

SCIENCE FOR ENHANCING EMPLOYMENT CAREER OPPORTUNITIES FOR LIBRARIANS.
Abstract
This research paper investigates how information entrepreneurship freelancing in library and
information science for enhanced employment as it career opportunities for librarians. The study
discussed librarianship and unemployment, how unemployment has devastated the young graduates;
how technology enhances the work of the librarians in libraries and information centres, and how
technology enhances employment and increase productivity among individuals. The study
emphasizes some employable skills needed by library professionals in order to function well, and the
career opportunities (pathways) in librarianship, which will enable librarians to explore. It also,
discussed freelancing and entrepreneurship (business opportunities) in library and information
science like research writing indexing and abstracting, publishing and consultancy services among
others. Some challenges that freelancers encounter were also discussed, such as time management,
overdue payment, unrealistic client request etc. Conclusions were included and suggestions were
drawn that there should be an integration of an entrepreneur-friendly curriculum in library schools,
library professionals should develop the entrepreneurial culture and mindset, and the potential
graduates are to embark on continuous professional development for competence and skill acquisition
for different entrepreneurship ventures and services.

LIBRARIANS' ACCESS AND UTILIZATION OF ELECTRONIC INFORMATION
RESOURCES IN UNIVERSITY LIBRARIES IN DELTA STATE, NIGERIA.
Abstract
This study revealed how librarians in university libraries in Delta State, Nigeria, were able to
access digital resources. Data was collected for the study through a well self-structured
questionnaire that consist of 73 items, based on descriptive research design. The researcher used
the stratified random sampling technique for the purpose of choosing the university libraries. A
total of 200 librarians was chosen from four strategically placed libraries in Delta State, which
are Delta State University, Delta State University of Science and Technology, and University of
Delta, all in Delta State. The seven preset research subjects served as the basis for the study. The
Cronbach's Alpha Guttman splithalf Coefficient of 0.97 indicated that the instrument exhibited a
good degree of dependability. It was also highly advised that governments and the Institution's
authorities provide internet and ICT infrastructure in order to ensure that electronic materials are
widely accessible and used effectively and efficiently.
